Does anyone have any experience with harps from Magical Strings?

No one answered this 6 years ago, but maybe now someone has a bit of experience.

I just bought a 36 string concert oladion in cherry from Magical Strings (Philip Boulding), after trying out many different harps. It has a beautiful tone with a deep, rich bass and nice bright treble. It is an excellent harp for the money, and I also like the way it looks, with its traditional Celtic design. He is also an excellent harpist & musician, and his wife Pam plays the hammer dulcimer in their concerts and recordings. He has been making harps for over 30 years. They also host a harp camp every summer, and he teaches the harp as well. They are wonderful to work with & have great customer service. You can see all their harps on the magical strings web site, along with their CDs and concert schedule.

I just spoke with Mr. Boulding the other day, based on Biagio’s recommendation. (See, I do listen!) His website is ‘down’ at present, being re-done, but he sent me an updated (2020) price list.

Harps are made one at a time. They are quite reasonable, by comparison; however, harps do not come ‘complete’ as other manufacturers’ packages (e.g., DS, L&H, Rees) -but are custom-made, with as many (or as few) sharping levers as you may desire. Cost changes per lever, plus additional cost for a case.
(which I am not a fan of- of course you need levers and a case!?)

He’s sending me sound samples. I can hardly wait.
