There’s a Style 17 on ebay presently (although… it’s not labeled as such). Thought I’d share this tidbit. If I lived on the east coast… I’d like to take a peek. Right now it’s $2900. Center strip has a crack where one would expect; has a typical belly… but it’s hard to tell from pictures. It’s located @ Cape Cod.

Do you know this particular harp, Carl?

I don’t. I was wondering myself, given the location, who it might be that is selling it. The problem with photographs is that I can’t get the technical information I need to make an accurate assessment of it’s condition. Who knows for example how worn the action is, or even if it moves at all? And I can’t see inside the pedestal to see if the baseboard is cracked, or if the baseframe is having any problems. There’s a crack in the center strip, which they show in a photograph. But how deep is it? Is there anything else wrong with the soundboard?

How much is a new soundboard?

I just looked at the site again and the seller ended the auction. I suspect that someone approached them privately and bought it that way.
