I’m wondering what type of seating would be most appropriate to maintain a correct posture while playing the harp.
I’m interested in a vintage vanity chair (no arms with a small, low back) and am wondering if this would work.
Some, I’ve noticed, use piano-type stools or benches, while others use chairs.
Those adjustable harp benches are probably the most flexible, but I make do with a lyre-back chair I picked up for $5 at a sale when an old hotel was going out of business. I stuck a fat Burmese cushion on top of it and it fits just right.
What else would work–those sturdy chairs our local Starbuck’s is phasing out. They’re built for the ages and will never squeak.
For me the right chair depends on the height of the harp.
