Point number one here is not to tread on the toes of the pros- if your teacher sometimes passes gigs she doesn’t want on to you she will be able to help you set your fee, and you should talk to her in any case.

Do any of you sometimes get small harp jobs? If so, how much do you
charge per hour? I’ve done a few weddings, parties, etc. and was just
wondering what any of you are doing.

I’m only 12, but I get $50 an hour for backround music and $100 an hour for weddings.

In my opinion, it is a wonderful idea for young harpists to do gigs, but if they start to get in the way of practice time, you’d better hold off a bit. Just a suggestion for future reference.

ive done many weddings and parties. im 13 years old and i charge $125 for the first hour and $75 for each additional. My harp teacher always tells me “don’t every play without getting paid” itys a good theory. hope this helps!
