When I flip one of the levers on my L&H Lyric, the string squeaks or rings, like bowing a violin string. The lever bracket is loose–I can move it side-to-side a bit with light pressure–but I can’t get it in a position that doesn’t squeak the string. Any suggestions?
I was told sometimes levers squeek because of friction with the string and the answer is the teeniest bit of oil on the string – the suggestion was to rub your fingers on the side of your nose and then on the string where the lever contacts. You may wish to use an alternative source of barely greasy fingers!
