I was playing on YouTube the other day, and saw a video of Sivan Magen playing (the video is in two parts; the second part should be on the “related videos” to the side).

I also found a folk harper named Mark Harmer playing his own arrangement of Carolans’ Dream.

Mr. Magen’s fingers appear to be very long and slender on the video.

I just found this on YouTube.

Its an interview with Enya and then she gives a live performance of, Its in the Rain on some British talk show. However, throughout the song the cameras fix on the harp player quite a bit. I love the hosts comment at the end, Yes, so beautiful, so haunting. And amazing harp playing with 8 heals on. The co-host says, Yes, look at that, I was just saying it should be some type of sport Ug, and I thought wearing a suit was a pain!

But hey, its a great song and nice to watch the harp grab almost as much face-time as Enya. (Okay, not quite, but more than usual Id imagine!)

    Hi Fellow Harpers —

I noticed some of you found my Blues video on YouTube. I’m hoping to having more video up there soon. In the meantime, PBS stations around the country are airing a program I made that’s all harp (with orchestra) – many different styles: Blues, Flamenco, Celtic. Most of the show is with lever harp – a couple of the tunes use pedal harp. It shows in NYC Sun. March 11 on WLIW-21 (8pm) and Boston WGBH-2 Mon. March 12 (7:30pm). I’d love help getting the message out about these PBS shows — and they’ll certainly give you an eyefull of harp video. A pdf list of PBS stations all over the country playing the video is here: http://www.hipharp.com/pbs_mats/faqs_pbs.html Thanks! And keep on harping!
