I was watching a segment on HGTV about who’s house was this. This show investigated people who may have once owned unique homes around the country. One segment stood out recently. The segment was about a African American female Harpist. Apparently the owners brought this unique home in not if it was Mississippi, Tennessee however what was striking is that the owners found such wonderful artifacts belonging to her: clothing, shoes, ball gowns, an very beautiful antique piano, music sheets and pictures. Some picture showed her playing at the white house for John F. Kennedy. In the owners research they referred to her as Queen Ann. I think this is who you are looking for. I been trying to find information on her thats how I found your site. We need to preserve her legacy and see if the new owners will let her estate be documented. She was so accomplished and would be an inspiration for young women around the world.

Hi, My name is Aziza Patton and i am Queen Ann’s GrandDaughter my Father is her only son Levi R. Patton Jr i dont have much information on her and would be fasinated to find out more my father tells me stories but not much and she had gone through Alhzimers by the time i was truly able to communicate with her and then she died easter 2001. i was not even ten yet. I have been the mansion on Missionary Ridge so many times before my father had to sell it . it broke his heart to do so I want to beleive that my father Kept the Queen Ann but i can not be sure for my Father does not speak often of it nor mention it. I would love to learn more or hear stories from people who either knew her or her music.

Hi Aziza. I am very concerned about the legacy of your grandmother. Her story should be internationally known and should have been documented in our history books. For I am sadden to have learned a piece of my history on a HGTV special. If they are keeping this from us who knows what else is being withheld. This is unfair to everyone but especially unfair to this great woman, Mrs. Patton. This boiled my blood for days after watching that episode and is still making me deeply frustrated as I search for answers. We need to keep pushing for answers and solutions. We can not let this go, we owe this to our generations to come. Aziza, the best advice I can give you is to join a family tree website and when it grows more information will become available to you. Contacting local/major news stations will also help with the research process. Have you tried reaching out to the family that is in the house shown on HGTV and has possession of her belongings? Hi Aziza,

I grew up and now live in the Chattanooga area and I know very little about the Patton home on Missionary Ridge, but I visited Mrs. Patton there once with my grandmother when Mrs. Patton was still alive. I was maybe 9 or 10 years old (over 20 years ago), but the visit is still quite vivid as it was one of the most inspiring moments of my life. I remember she had a case full of ivory figurines which were gifts she received throughout her world travels. It broke my heart when I found out the home was sold.
Mrs. Patton taught music to my uncles when they were younger. If you are still looking for stories about your grandmother, please reply to this message and I’ll get you in touch with my grandmother.
