I am a yoga instructor and have been thinking for awhile about incorporating my harp (L&H Prelude 38) into yoga-relaxation classes.

There is a woman who has taught yoga the last several years at the Somerset harp festival.

I am a yoga teacher and long-time practioner too. I love live music with class and think it will work really nicely with a restorative class. My one suggestion would be to perhaps play at someone else’s class the first time so that you are not juggling going around and giving assists, being a wordsmith as you lead the relaxation, etc. It might just help to feel the harp experience first yourself before trying to manage it all. Wish I could be there!

I attend a lot of yoga classes and I think your idea is a good one. I do also think the advice already given is well worth following! Good luck and let us know how it goes.

I am a long time harpist and relatively recent yoga student.

I do the same kind of playing (mostly improvisation) for a Tai Chi group that meets once a week. People find it very helpful.
