I want to get a Christmas gift for my daughter’s harp teacher. Some ideas: cash, movie tickets, Starbucks gift certificate, silver harp cufflinks.

I would suggest cash, though it might seem crude, or gift certificates to a harp music dealer. Jewelry like cufflinks is more risky, he may not have any shirts with french cuffs, or dislike them, etc.

For my male teachers, its generally always a Bottle of Scoth Whisky or some fine wine.

The bottle of Scotch or nice wine is a great idea. A gift of gourmet food items is also a sure-fire winner and the basket or tote bag is something that he can keep when all the food is gone! Make sure you find out whether he is allergic to anything, or has particular issues like vegan diet, kosher, etc.

    Diane,

Restaurant gift certificates are always a nice idea.

One of those neck wraps that you put in the freezer or microwave and then wrap around your neck and shoulders to ease muscle tension. 🙂

Or a session with a massage therapist, or an hour of spa treatment…depending on your budget.

Ah, wine is most of the times fine…I hardly know a harpist who doesn’t like wine 😉

However, I am always moved when a kid has made for example a drawing for me!
