What instruction book do you like to start out kids with? I’ve been

using the “Fun from the First” by Milligan, but maybe I should try

    something new.

I keep finding myself returning to “Old Tunes for New Harpists” by Mildred Dilling.

I am a student, and the first book I used was Betty Paret’s First Harp Book.

I too, started many years ago, with the Betty Paret Book, and then used the Mildred Dilling. The Betty Paret book is very important for learning teachnique and fingering applications.

It seems that some teachers are more into their students playing “big” pieces, rather than building a solid foundation with proper technique and placement.
