For those of you who use Finale for music notation, you are probably already aware of the excellent article in the Nov/Dec 2018 Harp Column Magazine. However it doesn’t talk about how to make those little diamond symbols for lever changes.
I use the Expression Tool and add a number of expressions in a separate category. I’ve added symbols for just the diamond as well as sharp, flat, and natural with the diamond. I’ve also added a symbol with just a ledger line when needed. The ledger line has to be manually positioned over the diamond. (I haven’t found a way to make the symbol which includes the ledger line). See ScreenShot1 attached.
The key is to use the Engraver Font Set and set the font size to 24pt. See ScreebnShot2 attached. The diamond symbol is capital left O, shift-3 for the sharp, lower case b for flat, lower case n for natural. The ledger line is shift with the minus key. (I’m on a Mac, Windows might be different).
Place and drag them in your score just as you would use any other expression.
