I am working on the Fantaisie by Saint-Saens, and find it most annoying. It is so simple, so expressive, and gets more and more difficult instead of easier! (A sign of fine music.) It clearly served as a likely model for Faure’s Impromptu. The opening chords are so annoying, yet so beautiful.

Any thoughts?
