Hi everybody! I am a new

I don’t know much about the company, but some of the harps on that page (specifically the “knee harps” and the “Mitre” harps) look very like the Pakistani harps that you’ll hear all kinds of warnings about (for very good reason, I’m afraid).

    Hi Chris,

Try Clive Morley Harps in England (Gloucester) they have the Ravenna 26, and quite a few other types of harps (www.morleyharps.co.uk/acatalog) and there’s also a sound sample of it on YouTube.com…just type in Ravenna 26.

    Good luck to you….

I can’t tell you about EMS, but I suspect they are not good just from looking at them over and over on Ebay for next to nothing in price — like the “Rosewood” harps.

Check out Pilgrim harps in the UK, and also Mark Norris harps. Camac is in France, and there is a brand in Germany called Horngacher whom I have heard good things about. You can find all of these on the web.

Here’s a link to the Ravenna 26 video from Morley:

I can tell you that I’ve had my Ravenna for just about 2 years now, and have never once regretted the purchase.

Mark Norris makes lever harps and Horngacher make pedal harps but they are both the top of the range makers, so if you have a restricted budget you may find they are out of reach.

I have a Dusty STrings Ravena at work, and I’m rather fond of it.

A BIG thank in all of you. You help me very much. I have already read, listen, “click” a lot and so I decide to follow your recommendations. I will order a full lever ravenna 26

It sounds like some of the overseas dealers are marking up significantly.

    Hi Chris,

If you want to order from the USA..I ordered my Ravenna 26 from Folk Mote Harp Shop in Santa Barbara, California (www.folkmote.com)…They have great prices.

    Hi Chris!

I just recently purchased a lever harp from Denwar, at http://www.harpsales.com.

It is true that Early Music Shop’s line of harps are listed on the Mid-East Web site, and their frames are of rosewood, a dead giveaway. My impression was that they are positioned as a sort of “upscale Mid-East”, for people who want a spruce soundboard, a compact round backed soundbox, and levers that work (whatever “full cam levers” really means.

You may have got one already but if not, you should have a look at Salvi Harps.

    Hi Ken!

Looks like you bought your DenWar Chieftan shortly after I bought mine late in 2007.
