Hi all! A friend of mine that’s luthier, made a 22-strings- shepherd lap harp for me. I play other instruments but I’ve never played a harp before and I want to learn helped by the best instrument as good as possible. I’m interested in buying a set of sharping levers because I think is necessary to tune easily. My friend says is not necessary to install the sharping levers on.

    1. What’s the difference between using a sharping lever or not?

    2. Does exist any sharping lever suitable for nylon and steel strings?

    3. Where can I buy good ones online?

    4. Are really ‘universal’ the universal sharping levers of Music Makers? http://www.harpkit.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=MK&Product_Code=leveru&Category_Code=

    Thanks

not being very handy myself, I would ask the luthier friend to install them.
