I will be REALLY intent on reading the music (usually a new piece) and find that when I have finally muddled through that I did NOT once look at the strings. Once I realize that I’ve done this, I can’t do it again – broke my concentration I guess. Anyone else do this? It makes me a little nuts that I can’t do it again. Hmmmm

Hi Kay, I’ve done that. I’ll be playing along fine without looking at the strings then when I look at them I can’t continue. I have to relearn it looking at the strings because sight memory is different looking at string patterns verses muscle memory when reading from the page.
