I’m doing a report and analysis on Debussy’s Dances Sacrée et Profane. Does anyone know of any good sources that I can consult? Thank you!

Best of luck in your project, c k. A handful of us X-harpers will be interested in what you come up with.

Carl Swanson wrote about his lessons on this with Pierre Jamet. http://swansonharp.com/articles/DEBUSSY.html It was originally published in the Journal of the American Harp
Society Winter 2000 Issue, Vol. 127, No. 4.

You can find that article on my company web site, http://www.swansonharp.com. Just click on the articles page. You’ll find it there. More recently the Journal published my article on solutions to the pedal nightmare in the second dance. I haven’t taken the time yet to put that up on the web site. But if you email me privately I can email you the article and the solutions.
