I think one of the most gorgeous pieces of chamber music written for harp is the sextet by Jean Cras. Try to find a recording of that.

    Jerusha,
There is a list of interesting CD’s of Camber Music with harp:

Jean Cras: Quintet (Carl, is quintet but not sextet): Quantum 6897
    Villa-Lobos: Quintette instrumental Adda 581035
Nino Rota: Sonata fl & hp; Quintet – Dynamic 172
Arnold Bax: Quintet, Elegiac Trio (Fl,viola & hp), Sonata fl & hp – Naxos 8.554507
Andre Caplet: Conte Fantastique (many versions) Harmonia Mundi 1951417
Albert Roussel: Serenade (quintet) – Praga da Camera 350018
IMPRESSIONS (French Music): Faure, Jolivet, Jean Cras (the same quintet),
Tournier: Suite, Ropartz – Hansler 13312
Agrupacion Cameristica Isolda (that’s me! 😉 excuse me):
Tournier, Debussy, Ginastera, Roussel, Falla, Guibert RTVE M3/06

The repertoire for Flute, viola & harp is very extensive, a few examples:
Debussy, Jolivet (2), Bax, Kikta, Bondon, Moreno-Buendia, Dvarionas,
    Vellones, Maayani, etc.
    Look at http://www.lyramusic.com/thfvaz.htm

    Good luck!

    Zoraida
PS Quintet: fl, vl, vla, vc & hp)

Zoriada- Thanks. I should have pulled out the CD and checked before I posted that. Anyway, the Cras is a gorgeous piece.

For Bax listening, I prefer the Nash Ensemble, and Doris Lederer with Jude Mollenhauer.

Jerusha- I just found the CD. It was put out by Quantum and has the number QM 6897 and contains both a Quintette and a Trio(no harp) as well as La Flute de Pan. All pieces are by Jean Cras, but only the Quintette has harp. Hope this helps.

I love this CD: Jean Françaix: Three Quintets, Piccolo Duetti, performed by “Mobius” on ASV, published in 2000. The harpist is Alison Nicholls, with flautist Lorna McGhee, violinists Philippe Honoré and Kanako Ito, violist Ashan Pillai, clarinetist Robert Plane, cellist Marlin Storey. It was made in England, and I got this copy from Amazon or EBay.
