Book of graded pieces?

Hi All-

A few years ago I was at the Cite de la Musique in Paris and saw a

book there in the bookstore for harp listing a ton of harp solos

along with their difficulty level and a few notes about each piece

including things like what types of techniques were used in

particular etc.

Like a typical young person I didn’t buy one and am regretting it

terribly now!

Does anyone know anything about this book, or how to get it? I tried

to access the Cite de la Musique’s Bookstore online and it isn’t

functioning properly.

In case you still can’t access the site, it says that the title is “10 ans avec la harpe” by Sylvie Beltrando and Corinne Le Du, and it seems to be out of print or out of stock (again, with reservations for my poor French). Hope this helps!

I have it and it is fantastic! I have been using it with my students for the last few years, to help them choose pieces at their performance level. I admit that I am very “French-school” when it comes to teaching, and I love the way the pieces are graded from level 1 to 10 by degree of difficulty, technical requirements, etc. It is organized in three cycles: beginners from years 1 through 3, intermediate from 4 to 7, and advanced from 8 to 10- much like the Conservatory programs in Europe. I bought this book at one of the music stores in Paris when I was living there, and I consider it a must-have for all harp teachers out there!

That reminds me, Lyon $ Healy once put out a booklet on using troubador harps in schools which had a graded list of repertoire that was quite useful. It was written by Grace Follet and Marjorie Chauvel, I believe.
