I am interested in other teachers comments on good book series to use for children with smaller lever harps. I like Betty Paret’s First Harp book, but I’m starting to venture out on some of the other teaching books out there. Any suggestions or comments based on student success would be great!

Thoughts on Harp Olympic series or Colorful Adventures on Harp book?

Lisa, Mildred Dilling’s Old Tunes for New Harpists has tunes like Pussy Cat and other children’s songs, in the front part of the book before it becomes more difficult. The book has about 98 folk songs from many countries. Folk song material needs to come before composed music, for ease of memory and because harmony

As a first book, the ABC of Harp Playing has some memorable tunes, much like “Big brown bear likes to eat, honey is his special treat, my favorite.”
