Hi everyone. I was wondering if any of you have played Bach’s Violin and Clavier Sonata No. 3 BWV 1016

    #149582

You can play it all in flats, why not, if you are sounding the same pitches? But clarity is another matter. If it is highly chromatic, will it sound at all good as harp music? Most Bach does not, whether people play it or not.

Thanks for responding to my question – I really appreciate it! I have since discussed this with my teacher and resolved the problem – remaining in the written key, as well. There are a couple of crazy pedal measures, to be sure, but it’s working out nicely so far. The violinist and I absolutely love this piece – and we think it sounds gorgeous on harp – so it’s definitely worth it.
    Thanks again! =D
