Hands. Any home remedies?

I haven’t tried this myself, but have heard great things about it: Therabath Thermotherapy Paraffin Bath for arthritis treatment. You can read more about it and watch a video on Amazon. Also, if you currently play a high tension pedal harp or any high tension string harp, you may consider switching to a folk harp with lighter tension. I did, and it really solved my achy hands and fingers 😉

I have arthritis in my right thumb and had a carpometacarpal joint arthroplasty. It took a while to heal from the surgery, I played my Camac DHC 32 electric harp while healing since it has very light tension. I am now playing my pedal harp again. I have to pace myself, cannot practice too long, about an hour and 15 minutes. Before and after surgery I used arnica cream, it is the best and safest (no ibuprofen or aspirin in the cream). I found that braces did not work well for me. The paraffin bath and a soak in hot water with Epsom salts helps. Also, icing for a couple of minutes right after you play.

Tart Cherry is supposed to work brilliantly to reduce arthritis and inflammation in hands! My mom took it when she had arthritis, and it went away. she recommended it to a friend, who also experienced amazing results! You should find it in capsules online or in a health food store! Hope this helps.
