    I’m still trying to figure out the tagging thing so hope I do this right. I’m freshening up on @Red Sequins by Joyce Rice. There is a one measure descending bass pattern that occurs several places in the piece. I usually use ettoufe for this kind of pattern but it seems a little awkward. Is there a better way of muffling this so it’s not muddy?

    I don’t know this piece but you can play with a second or third finger while using the base of the thumb and palm to muffle the previous note.
