Can you give me an opinion on these lever harps, comparing the two
very similar instruments and comment on value. I have a teenage pupil
who needs a better instrument than her 31 string hire harp but I
cannot entirely justify to her parents the outlay on a pedal harp.
She’s never shown the commitment and ability I’d like to see, which
might well surface with a pedal instrument but I’m not wholly
confident of that. I know she is restricted by her current instrument
but had never really cracked the key signatures and the lever system
before she came to me & that remains a sticking point for her. So
whilst pedals might be more logical, I think she lacks the playing
agility to master the pedal changes and there is more fundamental
work to do – that’s my assessment of her. I know a pedal harp would
give her a better opportunity and motivation, but I need an
intermediate transition somehow…….. any suggestions, please.
She’s 15 and probably 5 foot tall by now.. Alison

I think that the Salvi Ana and the L&H Prelude are both good harps.
