I’m buying a lever harp as a complete beginner and would like to know if there are any major differences/advantages to getting a 27 string harp over a 22, will the extra octave really make much difference as to what pieces I can play? Obviously a 27 harp is significantly more expensive so I wouldnt like to spend more if unneccesary, thanks, Andy.

You really can’t do much at all with a 22 string harp.

Thank you for the advice and quick response! Looks like I will be investing in the 27 then!

Good choice Andy, speaking from the point of view that I have 22 string harp and 26 string harp I think you will find that the extra 5 strings make a BIG difference.

I have a 26 string harp and already feel limited when I play it.

I just wanted to add that my 32 string harp is a Dusty Strings.
