Urwin releases second solo album

Irish harper, composer, and songwriter Aisling Urwin recently released her second solo album, The Other Place. Though the harp is central, the album also features field recordings of streams, birdsong, storms, a grandfather clock, bells, and old wind-up toys, as well as contributions from eleven other musicians. “I wanted to see what sounds I could make that I hadn’t made before and see what new worlds I could find,” Urwin says in a social media post. “The Other Place…explores the ability of sound to bring us somewhere else, each song somewhere new.” Urwin describes her sound as a blend of traditional Irish heritage with “cinematic textures and song-driven storytelling.” The album is available in CD, vinyl, digital, and streaming formats via Bandcamp.
