Pratté harp competition announces results

The Second Pratté International Harp Festival and Competition has announced the results of the competition, held Jan. 16–20 in Norrköping, Sweden. Juliette Gauthier (Belgium) won first prize. Gauthier also won the Audience Prize, as well as the Pratté Prize for the best interpretation of Anton Edvard Pratté’s work for harp in the first round. Jernej Misic (Slovenia) won second prize. Elena Antropovski (Belgium) and Michelle Sweegers (the Netherlands) shared third prize. The jury included harpists Sophie Hallynck (Belgium), Isabelle Perrin (France/Norway), Mirjam Schröder (Germany), Päivi Severeide (Finland), and Delphine Constantin-Reznik (France/Sweden), who served as chairwoman. Henrik Marmén, artistic director of the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, was a member of the jury in the final round.

The competition was held concurrently with the Pratté International Harp Festival, which featured workshops and intensive masterclasses by the jury members, a harp exhibition by Salvi and Lyon & Healy, and concerts in Norrköping Concert Hall and in the city of Norrköping. Performing artists included Norwegian harpist and composer Uno Alexander Vesje, the 2019 Competition Audience Prize winner Claudia Lucia Lamanna, the Hallynck sisters (Marie Hallynck, cello, and Sophie Hallynck, harp), and jury members Mirjam Schröder and Delphine Constantin-Reznik.
