The 2022 American Harp Society Foundation Awards competitions took place on May 24–25, 2022. The competitions were conducted virtually due to the ongoing pandemic. Videos of the winners’ performances will soon be available on the American Harp Society Foundation and American Harp Society websites.

Kelly Guangyin Hou, Rebekah Hou, and Morgan Short are the winners of the 2022 Anne Adams Awards. Kelly Guangyin Hou studies with Valerie Muzzolini at the University of Washington. Rebekah Hou is a student of Yolanda Kondonassis at the Cleveland Institute of Music. Short currently studies with Jessica Zhou at the New England Conservatory. Judges for this competition were former Chicago Symphony principal harpist Sarah Bullen, former Ball State University harp professor Elizabeth Richter, and former Boston Conservatory piano faculty Janice Weber.

Each Anne Adams Awards winner receives a scholarship award of $3,000, supported by the Anne and Dr. Burton Adams, Sally Maxwell/Doris Calkins, and the Doris E. Nebergall Funds. Lyon & Healy Harps, as part of their sponsorship of the competition, provides a gift certificate to each of the three winners and honors them on a permanent plaque displayed in the Lyon & Healy showroom.

Natalie Man is the winner of the 2022 Grandjany Memorial Competition and receives a $3,500 award. Man studies with Marguerite Lynn Williams at The Chicago College of Performing Arts of Roosevelt University. Judges for this competition were former Chicago Symphony principal harpist Sarah Bullen, soloist and Carleton University professor Caroline Leonardelli, and former Boston Conservatory piano faculty Janice Weber.

The Grandjany Memorial Competition was established in 1979 by the American Harp Society Board, funded by Bernard Grandjany in honor of his father Marcel Grandjany. It was enhanced by bequests from Mary Wheeler and Hermine Herbring to continue performances and appreciation of the works of Marcel Grandjany.
