After releasing two albums with her quartet, harpist Julie Campiche makes her solo recording debut with her new album Unspoken. Campiche says her compositions on the album honor the contributions of women in society. “Female strength is what makes the world go round,” Campiche says. “Eighty percent of household chores are done by women for free and anonymously. I want to celebrate exceptional women, but also give a place to this everyday strength.”
Campiche plays jazz with her quartet and modern chamber music with her Strings Project, in addition to composing music for performances and film. Classically trained, Campiche was the first harpist to earn a master’s degree in jazz composition and performance at the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne (HEMU). Learn more on her website.
