Notes from the arranger

These nursery tunes were chosen for young harpists to learn to play their instruments using familiar music. They are arranged so that the student progresses gradually, using the accompanying exercises: these could well be supplemented with additional material from Maria Grossi’s excellent tutor “Metodo per Arpa”.

All twelve tunes are suitable for both pedal and lever harps and students are free to decide their own tempi and dynamics. Each tune can be played as a solo or as a duo, encouraging harpists to play together from the very beginning. The emphasis is on enjoyment –have fun!
