Barbara Ann Fackler has arranged the Sephardic love song “La Rosa Enflorece (The Rose Blossom)” for solo lever or pedal harp. One of the best known of the Sephardic songs, the melody is a blend of Jewish and Arab influence as Jewish and Arab musicians performed together in Castillian courts. The arrangement is offered in two key signatures (three flats and all naturals) and two versions (with and without finger markings). Fackler says, “Its simple, haunting melody suits harp well.”

Lovely arrangement of an ancient and beautiful song. The composer captures the essence and mood of the piece perfectly. The notes are clear and notations easy to read. I love that she offers it with and without fingering. I prefer to write my own in, but many will appreciate her offering a copy with fingering suggestions. Advanced beginner level piece, but truly lovely piece regardless of your level…more intermediate players can enhance the piece easily.
