Mikay, let us know the area in which you live, as you really need to bring your own harp to a summer harp camp, by car rather than plane. Now, you need to acquire the June 13 2005 issue of “Harp Column” magazine, perhaps by calling the toll-free number: 800 582 3021 and buying this camp article or the whole magazine.

in reply to: Brochure and Flyer #88825

Saul, you might try, instead of a brochure (save that for when you seek a paid engagement as a harp performer) a business-card size ad in your neighborhood newsletter, if there is one. People seek out a music teacher for their youngsters close to home if possible, and often look at neighborhood-oriented mailings rather than tossing them out right away. All you would need are the basics: name, degrees, years of teaching experience, area in which you are located such as “Germantown area”,”no charge for first lesson”, and your telephone number. The flexibility of pre-teen children’s hands is very desirable

My friend Rosemary St John was the Adelaide Symphony harpist, and taught in the area. for many years. A few years ago she retired to the town of Murray Bridge, not far away, and still in the same state of South Australia. She will know not only the name of the harp professional who now holds that position, but also the names of Rosemary’s many students in or near Adelaide

She has taught all ages of harp players for many years and will know who teaches in Ontario. She would also answer any questions you might have, about starting to learn the harp. Best wishes!
