thanks so much for each of your replies, i just called Salvi and i’m waiting for a call back. for I do not know what reason Lyon and Healy will only sell the Salvi levers if you have a Salvi harp. strange.

I had a text message this week about my Blevins harp here in New Mexico. When he said he was interested and I asked if he would like to come over to see it or if he had any questions he said he would secure a payment, I knew it was a scam and I was skeptical from the beginning since the area code from the text message was not local. also the grammar and spelling was not that of a native English speaker. I strung him along a little and asked how i would ship a harp to an address he gave me when i did not even have a box and i would not pay for this to be shipped. the response was, not to worry my shipping company would take care of that. Right! He even mentioned he would use Ups Fed Ex etc. anyway I reported the phone number and address to the numbers listed on Craigslist for fraud. He asked me for my address and when i said i would not give it to him he did not text me back. hope no one gets taken by one of these scammers.

This is in reply to the Paraguayan harps, I tried to send an email and it came back, so I will try calling or Skype. Any suggestions as to the best way to reach this place, is it still in business? The whole site is up and appears to be working, I sent another email out, but will see what happens. thanks

I’m so sorry you have no power or heat, I’m from Long Island and the town Oceanside I grew up in is pretty wiped out. I understand the school i went to was trashed and the students have to be bused to another school. My prayers are with you. I was in a hurricane in Hawaii, but it is a lot warmer there and the hurricane was not as bad as this one was. I just pray things will be back to normal as soon as possible! Nancy

Good for you. I wish i had been wiser and done that about a year ago instead of being trusting and sending more money, but i did file a complaint with the BBB yesterday so i will see where that takes me.

There is an ongoing problem with this man and his harps, i too sent him more money to complete my order which is now over a year, he said thanks and i have only heard they are still behind and i still have nothing. i do not intend to get anything from him, i am going to file a complaint with the BBB., i feel i need to chalk it up to experience and i feel i just lost my money being trusting when i should not have been. i do not want anything from him anymore than my money back as i already got 2 harps while waiting for the one i ordered from him. i wanted to start learning this summer so i just got one than another when i saw some good deals. i will let everyone know what happens if anything after i file the complaint.

I totally agree with the way he should handle things. I too have come across luthiers who will tell you they cannot tell how long you will have to wait, but you will have to wait, one site says the waiting time is 5 years! But at least you know. I have only gotten occasional emails and not all from Chris. I think what got me frustrated is when i read he has been out and about doing concerts and having his harps for sale and I have been patiently waiting and still have nothing.

i think i have the EVE, the gothic style, i got it off of Ebay when this man had bought it and just didn’t have time to practice. i did call the store to ask them about trading it up and they were very helpful. i do agree about chris, he just can’t handle all the orders, but other luthiers will tell you on their site that the wait time is lengthly, they are upfront so you know what you are getting into. i will just have to keep waiting since i can’t get my money or the harp from him right now.

glad to hear you will go with a Stoney End, i have a 22 string lap harp and it is quite nice, the sound is quite pretty, it holds tuning well and still no broken strings. i’m also glad you are listening and following what we are going through with the harps. i just do not know what to do about the order i placed. good luck with the harp you get.

i feel the same and just don’t want the harp anymore, it looks like the only thing left is Better Business B. and the attorney general. i feel bad for all of us, it looks like i’m just out the money i sent him.

Reading all of these latest posts makes me even more frustrated. If he has the strength to play at concerts and do other things he should take the time to let people know about their harps, I sent him 500.00 to finish my harp which he obviously still hasn’t done and all i know is that i’m in group 3 and i placed my order over a year ago and still have nothing. i did get a Stoney End harp that someone needed to sell and i really like it. it has a great sound and keeps in tune. what my next step is, i’m not too sure yet.

thanks so much ,i want to just get mine only because i sent him the money he requested. i wish i had not started all this though, i was also told mine was coming up for the dyeing process and that was months ago and i sent him the money and have not heard anything since from him, but i did hear from beverly who told me he was ill and other stuff. i just do not know what to do either since i already sent the money and do not know how to get it back. i was thinking of emailing beverly again and see if she has any more news. thanks for your imput. nancy
