Well, cars too…
Yes, it was a typo. I’m not sure how that got in there. My mind hasn’t even been on cars. Perhaps I heard something on TV while typing that slipped in.
I imagine the first carbon fibre harps will be lever harps, due to the lower cost of the instruments, less mechanical issues to worry about in design/construction, the fact that many players already use lever harps as their outdoors/travel instruments so it’s a good choice to have in something besides wood, and because at least one maker (Andrew Thom) is already experimenting quite successfully with different designs and materials.
I think on most forums, the majority of people subscribing don’t post. This is an example of a forum where many people, myself included, come to learn from others. I just happen to occasionally have moderately amusing things to add about some subjects, usually those less directly

According to how she tells the story, when Deborah Henson-Conant was a girl she wanted a harmonica, also called a “blues harp.” She told her parents that she wanted a blues harp for her birthday, and one day she came home, and there was a harp.
She said she had asked for a blues harp, and her mother replied “Don’t be so picky. We couldn’t find a blue one.”
