FWIW, my comments were based on the David Watkins edition, which is the one I’m familiar with.

I have the David Watkins edition – in his Anthology of English music for the harp volume 4 for anyone interested. It has the Romance in F and Romance in A flat. The A flat is a popular and lovely work (but for Jerusha – you could not adapt it for lever harp). But neither has the opus numbers on them, and considering that Parish Alvars wrote volumes and volumes of them, I was hestitant to mention my copy of the F Major in case it was not the same one!

    Ro,

It probably is the same one!

    Will do Jer!

Also, for Brook, on the same You tube site, there are a few other Parish Alvars works. The Romance in A flat is performed there too. So, have a look. As that

I like these because these harpists don’t let levers (or lack of them) limit them. I get so tired of people saying “you can’t…” about lever harp (and half the time they’re wrong.

Jerusha, You’d thoroughly enjoy anything on YouTube by Harpjoe. This is a violin-cello-harp male trio in Taiwan who are each excellent. My favorites that they play, out of 20 posted videos, are Libertango by Piazzola, and Por Una Cabeza. The harpist is the arranger, and he seems at one with his instrument. I wish they would tour the U.S.

    Hey Ro,

Email me so I have your addy again! My computer died and I lost everything. I’m back with a new and better machine, but now my house is torn apart with renovations. I’m currently right in front of a window in a narrow space between two unfinished closets with a table saw right behind me. (I have to make sure I don’t back up too quickly!)
