Lyon & Healy Awards announces 2021 repertoire

Lyon & Healy Harps has announced the music selected for its 2021 competition. Scheduled to take place March 11–13, 2021 at the concert hall in Chicago, all competitors are required to play Gabriel Fauré’s Impromptu pour la Harpe, and can choose from Franz Liszt’s The Nightingale or Mikhail Glinka’s The Lark for their second selection. The three winners chosen will be given a $2,000 cash prize and $500 gift certificate to Lyon & Healy. The competition is open to harpists who have not reached their 30th birthday by March 1, 2021.

The 2019 Lyon & Healy Awards featured 54 harpists performing Nino Rota’s Sarabande e Toccata and Le Jardin Mouillé by Jacques de la Presle. Judged by Sarah Bullen, Paula Page, and Yolanda Kondonassis, Anya Garipoli, Claire Thai, and Noël Wan were selected as the competition prizewinners. Hannah Cope, Chelsea Lane, Adam Phan, Juan Riveros, and Grace Roepke were all recognized as honorable mentions.
