On March 11, Lauren Swain (USA), Juan Riveros (USA), and Evelien Vaneysendeyk (Belgium) were chosen as the three winners in the 2022 Lyon & Healy Awards in Chicago, judged by Jacquelyn Bartlett, Agnès Clément, and June Han. Each winner received $2,000 to further their education and a $500 Lyon & Healy gift certificate. Honorable mention Jae In Yoo (South Korea) was awarded a $250 Lyon & Healy gift certificate. On March 10–11, 27 competitors from nine countries performed Un Sospiro by Franz Liszt (trans. Henriette Renié), along with their choice of “Spanish Dance no. 1” from La Vida Breve by Manuel de Falla (trans. Marcel Grandjany) or Jeux d’eau by Carlos Salzedo.

Swain currently studies with Carol McClure, Lecturer in Harp at Louisville University and Artistic Director of The Harp School, Inc. She was selected as principal harpist with the Potomac Valley Youth Orchestra for the 2020–2021 season. Riveros is a graduate of the Interlochen Arts Academy. He is currently pursuing a Master of Music degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where he received his Bachelor of Music degree studying with Yolanda Kondonassis. Vaneysendeyk currently studies with Isabelle Perrin at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, Norway, and is a former student of Lieve Robbroeckx. She was recently showcased as a Focus on Youth performer during the 2021 online World Harp Congress event.
