The Kansas City Symphony has appointed Yun Chai Lee principal harp. “I’m most looking forward to making music with, learning from, and being inspired by an incredible group of musicians—and of course, working with Maestro Matthias Pintscher,” Lee says. “Oh, and also Kansas City barbecue!”
Lee has appeared with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Buffalo Symphony, and the United Nations Chamber Music Society. He also took first prize in the 26th Soka (Japan) International Harp Competition in 2014. Lee earned his master’s degree at Yale School of Music studying with June Han, and he also studied with Nancy Allen at The Juilliard School. He began his studies in Singapore at the age of 5 with Katryna Tan.
