Following principal harp auditions held in South Australia last November, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) has appointed Jessica Fotinos to a trial period. “Whilst I’m still on trial for another three months, I have loved my time with the ASO so far,” Fotinos says. “I’m thrilled to be joining the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and to contribute to such a vibrant and passionate musical community. I’m especially looking forward to the variety of repertoire, the collaborative spirit within the ensemble, and the opportunity to connect with audiences through meaningful performances. It’s a real joy to be part of an orchestra that values both artistic excellence and a strong sense of community.”

An Australian native, Fotinos has recently returned home after eight years as principal harp with the Suzhou Symphony Orchestra in China. She has performed with many of Australia’s major orchestras, including the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Western Australian Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, and Orchestra Victoria, and worked with several European ensembles, including the Hamburg Philharmonic during her time in Germany. Alongside her performances and recordings of traditional repertoire, Fotinos has premiered numerous new works and collaborated with a range of artists across genres—from Anne-Sophie Mutter, Andrea Bocelli, Brett Dean, and Anthony Marwood to cabernet artist Meow Meow, pop singers Idina Menzel and Olivia Newton John, and Aussie rock musician Paul Kelly.
