American Harp Society announces 26th National Competition

The 26th American Harp Society (AHS) National Competition will be held May 28–June 1, 2025, at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, California. The competition is open to harpists up to the age of 30 as of June 1, 2025. The online application form link and competition guidelines will be posted this fall on the competition website. Applications must be received by April 1, 2025.

Required repertoire for the competition is listed below. For more details, visit the AHS National Competition website.

Junior Division (Maximum age 12 years)

  • J.S. Bach, Menuet in F Major, BWV Anh. 113, ed. Laura Sherman
  • J.S. Bach, Prelude 1 in C Major, BWV 924, ed. Laura Sherman
  • J.S. Bach, Prelude in F Major, BWV 927, ed. Laura Sherman
  • Bernard Andrès, Épices (choose any three from vol. 1 and/or vol. 2)
  • Grace Vamos, “Palace Lake” from Fountainbleau Suite

Intermediate I Division (Maximum age 15 years)

  • Sergiu Natra, Sonatina for Harp
  • John Bull/Marcel Grandjany, The King’s Hunt
  • Choose one:

Intermediate II Division (Maximum age 18 years)
