The University of Arizona in Tucson has appointed Ben Albertson as adjunct instructor in harp, beginning in the 2025–2026 academic year. “I’m thrilled to be joining as adjunct faculty at the University of Arizona, continuing a rich legacy following in the footsteps of Carrol McLaughlin and others,” Albertson says. “I will be leading the HarpFusion harp ensemble as well as teaching the students in private lessons and studio class.”

A harpist performing across the United States, Canada, and Europe, Albertson was one of five Americans selected to compete in the 2022 USA International Harp Competition and received the 2023 Grand Prize at the Chamber Orchestra of the Springs’ Emerging Soloists Competition. Currently in his second season as principal harp of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Albertson also regularly performs with the Phoenix Symphony and has played with the Canadian Opera Company Orchestra. Albertson holds a degree from the Glenn Gould School of the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, where he studied with Judy Loman. Learn more on his website.
