Hi everyone… my 2nd octave B string keeps breaking lately at the string nut. It has broken 3 times in the paat week and Im down to my last length of string. Any advice on what I should do? Thanks a lot in advance.

Check by the nut, it may be sharp. Look and feel around anywhere the string touches, see if there are any points or bumps that could be the cause.

What should I do if there’s a sharp part on the nut where the string touches it?

another thread on this forum talked about emery string, but maybe that’s not helpful, try a sleeve of paper or cloth as a temporary measure if you mean the hole of the tuning pin. Or retract the pin and file it smooth, but you’ll need a very small file, take it to the hardware store,,,,, or ask Carl, he’ll know….
