Hello I am just coming to this forum, it looks like a lot of knowledgable people on the harp family and seemed to the best place to ask this question.
I am an experienced musician purchasing the Kinnor lyre (the rosewood model that’s all over the place online); 10 strings, and I am in need of knowing what type of strings to buy for it! As far as ive seen they all ‘come’ with DuPont Hard Nylon strings; but that is so vague it hardly directs me as what to buy for an extra set. Also a lot are not clear whether the strings mentioned are simply on the lyre already itself, or if they are actually planning on sending out a new string package with the lyre

Hi – just recently ran across this site as I was looking for details on “silkgut” strings that I have seen listed recently – this site specifically discusses the kinnor strings –

also check out this site for some fascinating information about silk string manufacture and their historical use –
