Does anyone have a suggestion for a good recording app for the ipod touch/iphone? I’m not looking to get CD quality, just the sort of thing I used to be able to do with my trusty old cassette recorder when practicing.

There are just SO many recording apps available now.

Thanks, hitomi. Yes, I tried that, and also iTalk Lite. They’re both okay and get the job done, but I wouldn’t mind paying to get something just a bit better sounding–they don’t pick up the bass very well, I find. But you’re right, they both let you check for errors in rhythm and wrong notes, at lease.

I use StudioApplite and a mini mic on my iPod Touch. It is a multitrack recorder so you could record yourself on one track and play back for duets as well. I’m just a guitar player, but record with a harpist. I can also recommend getting a Zoom H2 recorder if you want a better sound.

    Thanks, Lyn.

I tried the Alesis protrack that lets you do stereo recording using an ipod as the hard drive, but it seems that there’s a problem with the newest model ipods and the protrack or Blue Mikey (lots of people, including me, having problems with getting a good dock connection), so I’m back to mono on the ipod.

I appreciate the suggestion for StudioApplite. I tried the Bias iProRecorder and found it very unstable.
