If you search with “harpmobile site:harpcolumn.com” in Google (without the quotes) you should find some threads discussing various cars. A Toyota Prius will fit a concert grand (barely) but if your daughter is very tall it might not fit her at the same time. When I tried one myself, the only way I could fit it and me was by loading base first, which is quite strenuous since you have to lift the entire harp off the ground. On the plus side, your daughter would be in great shape in no time. Different harp models

I second the Explorer. I have one, and fit my Camac Athena concert grand in easily. In fact, I recently went on a trip with the concert grand, a 34 string Thormahlen Serenade lever harp, two stands, two stools, and a harp dolly all stowed in there.

If you are in the US and interested in a Ford, your dealer will be happy to let you try your harp in any car you are interested in.

We are a Flex family- the Flex holds my 85P with tons of room to spare, and I can’t imagine the Style 23 not fitting as well.

The big advantage we find with the Flex is that it is low, like a sedan, but boxy. Very easy to load, with a flat entry floor.

The mileage is about the same as the Explorer.

Again, the most important thing is to explain to your dealer what you need the room for, and do a trial before buying.

How many people fit in the car with the harp in the ford explorer?

I’m traveling with 4 people, the harp and a cello and need to rent a car… will the Ford work?

My Explorer will only fit one person besides the driver with a concert grand in the back…although the cello would also fit. The bed isn’t long enough for the harp plus anymore people than that, sorry.
