I have played one. It was very tall, heavy, and the balance point was hard to work with, it was quite a lot of weight on my shoulder. The column design is different. I know of one you could probably buy inexpensively, because it needs repair.
Ive played two. One very old and in terrible condition and one that I restrung for the owner. She wasn’t a harpist but had just bought it brand new to look nice in her house! It was heavy but I find all salvis heavy to play. It looked stunning but since it had never been played it had no tone at all. I’m wondering if it might be this one currently for sale here in the UK
Thanks for letting me know the column design is different. I have an old picture (maybe 40 yrs old ?) of a harp looking very similar to the Iris, except for the very top (and soundboard decoration). Must be one of the very first Irises (I had heard the Electra had preceded the Iris, and was very similar in design, so I suspected it could be one).
