I’m playing in a Jewish wedding in a few months and the bridal couple wants me to play the traditional “Siman Tov” piece just after they break the glass. Does anyone know of a compilation written for the harp?
Thanks Barbara! This is my first Jewish wedding so I will have to ask the bride and groom if the cantor will be singing it. They didn’t mention that, they said they just want me to play it right after they break the glass and before they exit. They want me to play Siman Tov and Mazel Tov.
Sunita’s arrangement is just Siman Tov. Offhand, I can’t think of a harp arrangement of Mazel Tov. The two are often played together, but we always just played them from a lead sheet, so I never really looked.
F-minor is the most common vocal key for Siman Tov, but of course it’s a problem for lever harps, because of the d-flat. Sunita transposed it for her arrangement.
