Harpist, educator, and musician entrepreneur Alix Raspé Gray has been appointed to new faculty positions at Phillips Exeter Academy and the Longy School of Music of Bard College. In a press release, Raspé Gray says she is honored to join the faculties of both schools. “I look forward to engaging with these vibrant communities and continuing to support students in their artistic growth,” she says.
Raspé Gray will continue to serve on faculty at Dartmouth College and Phillips Academy Andover. She describes her teaching style as an individualized approach with emphasis on both technical command and creative voice. Raspé Gray adds that she integrates mindfulness and entrepreneurship into her pedagogy to prepare students for the stage, sustainable careers, and healthy music-making that supports longevity at their instrument.
Raspé Gray performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral harpist. In addition to her academic and performing work, she is the founder and director of the Dorset Harp Colony, an intensive summer program in Vermont dedicated to high-level harp study and mentorship.
