Ema Pereira and Rita Campos, harpists and harp teachers based in Portugal, have recently published Eu ❤️ Harpa (I Love Harp), a pedagogical harp manual originally published in Portuguese and now available in a Spanish translation (Yo ❤️ Arpa). Pereira and Campos say the new Spanish translation is intended to expand the reach of their method in the international harp community. “The core aim of this method is to strengthen the relationship between student, teacher, family, and harp, viewing harp learning as a shared and holistic process rather than an isolated, lesson-based activity,” the authors say. Pereira and Campos use interactive games for lessons and practice, as well as crosswords and other activities within the book, as a playful way to teach young harpists musical concepts, terminology, and harp technique.
