The 2026 World Harp Competition, organized by the Dutch Harp Festival Association (DHF), has announced the 28 candidates who have reached the video round. (Applicants were chosen for the video round based on their applications and audio recordings submitted for the preselection round.) Semifinalists chosen to advance from the video round will be announced by Jan. 22. Chosen contestants will perform their 45-minute programs during the semifinals and finals, to be held live in Utrecht, the Netherlands, on April 16–18.
The video round, which will be broadcast online at a later date, offers a short preview of each contestant’s proposed creative original 45-minute program featuring the applicant’s live performance on the harp. Applicants are free to choose all other aspects of the program, including repertoire, staging, instrumentation, and theme.
