Hello, I will be travelling around the UK for four months starting in September. I was planning on bringing my Fullsicle, but realize it may be quite a burden because I’ll be travelling around so much by train and with a suitcase as well. So my question is: how easy is it to find harps to play and rent around the UK? I’ll be around the main cities, some being London, Manchester, York, Cardiff, Edinburgh etc.

I know the harp is a much more popular instrument in the UK compared to where I’m from (Canada). I’m just worried that I will lose skills by not having a harp with me but was hoping to be able to pop into music stores and play at least once or twice a week. Do you think this is possible? Are rentals mostly long term only? Or is it worth it to bring my Fullsicle? I much prefer the sound of bigger harps but maybe having the Fullsicle with me will keep my fingers nimble.

Also, was thinking I could arrange some one-off lessons with a few teachers around the UK. Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

Hello Grace! Alison has been trying to get a response to you for several days. See her topic “It’s proving impossible to load a response…” under RECENT TOPICS. Thanks, Grace. I’m just trying to help here.
